I am a statistic.
No. I'm not a Nobel Peace winner, I haven't won a Women of Distinction award, and my TikTok video hasn't gone viral. In my wildest thoughts I didn't imagine being a statistic and I definitely didn't think I'd be a part of the one I am. Sometimes in life (it's rare that you'll hear me say this), you don't have a choice. I am one of the one in five Canadians who experienced a mental health problem or illness in any given year.
